Large Baroque Bassoon Reed

Over the past few months I have spend time with a number of bassoons at A=392hz. I’ve felt that, with some adjustments (usually narrowing the finished reed), this model can work well. On some 392 models I’ve cut the blade as short as 28mm and re-scrape (which you would have to do yourself), but others are better suited to the 31mm blade I aim for.

If you are looking for a reed with a more ‘brilliant’ sound, or if you struggle with the B2 in the tenor register, then the B1 shape may be better suited to your instrument.
